Enjoy great company, exotic food, and classic rock and roll while marveling at the prospect that some of the world’s foremost Permaculture experts are making plans to turn the biggest brown spot on the map of the US (The Four Corners Region) into an oasis of abundance.

…and then realize that you can start the same process right in your backyard!

Saturday nights dinner will be provided by Turtle Lake Refuge. Come enjoy a fantastic meal consiting of: Wild Green Juice, Locally Grown Salad with Dressing, Homemade Flat Bread, Coconut Carrot Curry Soup, Veggie Quiche, Quinoa Amaranth Side and Local Fruit Cobbler.

Off the grid in the High Desert of Southwest Colorado, USA on 80 rural, south facing acres at an altitude of 6,500 feet and latitude 37.37. USDA Zone 5-6 with annual rainfall ~13″. Vegetation: 50% Pinon/Juniper 50% Sagebrush. Soils: Wetherill Loam as designated by USDA

From Cortez, CO
1) Rte 491 ~4 miles North to Road N (John Deere Dealership) and turn Left (West)
2) Road N ~3 miles West to Road 20 (you come to “T” in the road) turn Left (South)
3) Road 20 ~2 miles South to the last power pole (on your left) and look to right for the sign for Hananiah’s Rest Ranch and green mailbox

If camping, drive in to the Tiny Home at the gate to pick up your passes and proceed to the camp site designated.

If not camping, park along the West side of Road 20. If this fills up then park on the east side. Make sure to pull off the road sufficiently to allow traffic flow along the length of road 20.


  • Water for cooking and bathing will be available at the main lodge.
  • Bottled drinking water will be available at the welcome wagon for a nominal fee.
  • There will be a passive solar outhouse utilizing wag bags. While we would like to have utilized humanure facilites our county will not permit it. Hand wash stations will be available at the outhouse as well.

There will be a nominal cover charge for the bands playing on the sound stage Saturday evening.

At least one New York Time reviewed Chelsea Green Author will be in attendance for a book signing. Details pending

John D. Liu, producer of the film “Green Gold” as well as many other great permaculture documentaries, may have film crew in attendance at the convergence. Most filming will be taking place on the third day when the local tribe members doing Permaculture on the regional reservations will be holding a small summit to get to know one another and inform eachother of their progress and network to determine ways to leverage their strengths. At this point, it will be assumed that anyone attending the convergence is expressing their consent for filming unless you submit contrary wishes via email to
